About the Role

This role involves managing and improving manufacturing and production processes for electronic products, ensuring smooth transition from prototype to mass production. The individual will support New Product Introduction (NPI), collaborate with hardware, firmware, and testing teams, and implement DFM/DFA practices to enhance manufacturability.

A key focus will be on monitoring quality, improving yield, and resolving production issues through structured problem-solving approaches. The role also drives continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean and 5S, while supporting testing, validation, and adherence to ESD and quality standards to ensure efficient and reliable production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Provide hands-on support to electronic product manufacturing lines and resolve production issues.
  • Prepare and standardize manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype to mass production, ensuring smooth transition.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and testing teams to improve product manufacturability.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles during product development.
  • Monitor production yield, defect trends, and process capability metrics.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys methodologies.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to enhance product quality and reliability.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives across production.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cycle time, rework, and manufacturing waste.
  • Improve overall manufacturing efficiency and product reliability through data-driven initiatives.
  • Support hardware testing, board bring-up, and functional validation activities.
  • Work with test jigs, programming stations, and firmware flashing processes.
  • Ensure adherence to ESD handling standards and established quality procedures.

Basic Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, production engineering, or process engineering.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and quality standards.
  • Proven experience in process improvement and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma tools.
  • Working knowledge of quality methodologies such as FMEA, SPC, 8D, CAPA, and Control Plans.
  • Understanding of process documentation and production planning practices.
  • Knowledge of ESD standards and IPC guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and process excellence.
